2019 Smokin’ With Smithfield Barbecue Grant Winners Announced

As the 2019 competition barbecue season kicks off, Smithfield®is excited to present the recipients of the third-annual Smokin’ With Smithfield Grant program. After receiving more than 200 applications, 33 non-profit and community barbecue events across the country have been carefully selected to receive $3,000 each, totaling $99,000 on behalf of the brand.

Wisconsin Cut Flower Growers School set

The school will be taught by experienced growers Joe Schmitt, a third-generation flower grower; Jeanie McKewan of Brightflower Nursery; and Hans and Lisa Larsen of Sunborn Gardens. They will provide practical information on how to grow and sell flowers using organic and sustainable production practices, and how to manage a cut flower business.

Operations will continue as usual to serve florists in northern New Jersey and the greater metropolitan area of New York City.
