Ralph’s Packing Co. Co-Owner Appointed To Food & Agricultural Products Center Advisory Board

Appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma Senate, Erica Hering, co-owner and corporate fiscal officer of Ralph’s Packing Co., joins the 16-member Industry Advisory Committee to help oversee the center’s mission and vision.

Fire Guts Dan Schantz Farm Building

The packaging building and offices of the Dan Schantz greenhouse farm in Lower Milford Township were gutted Tuesday night in a fire that spread so quickly three alarms were sounded for extra firefighters.

2016 MSU Floriculture Research Summaries – Part 1

Each year, the Western Michigan Greenhouse Association and Metro Detroit Flower Growers Association partially fund floriculture projects performed by Michigan State University faculty and staff. In 2016, the associations awarded grants for seven projects in the MSU Departments of Horticulture, Entomology and Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences. The association has just announced Asclepias tuberosa as its 2017 Perennial Plant of the Year.

CA Artisan Cheese Festival Celebrates At Local Farms, Creameries & Tasting Rooms Around Northern CA

This year’s weekend-long Festival will take place in and around the Sheraton Sonoma County in Petaluma, as well as various local farms, restaurants, creameries and tasting rooms of local artisan producers. The Festival brings together artisan cheesemakers, farmers, educators, authors, chefs, brewers, and winemakers from all over California for three days of cheese tasting, education and celebration.
