The FDA is warning consumers to avoid all Caribeña brand Maradol papayas. On July 26, 2017, Grande Produce issued a press release to notify consumers that it had conducted a limited recall of Caribeña brand Maradol papayas distributed during the dates of July 10 to July 19. However, FDA is continuing to advise consumers to avoid all Caribeña brand Maradol papayas. The FDA also notes that there are illnesses in states where Grande Produce did not distribute papayas and is continuing its investigation.

WA Public Health Investigates Infection Linked To Fish In Supermarket Tanks

Public health officials are investigating the possibility that a rare and sometimes fatal bacterial infection came from fish purchased from live tanks at a local store. A King County man was diagnosed with a bacterial infection caused by Vibrio vulnificus after preparing and consuming fish purchased from the live fish tanks at this store. Public Health cautions anyone who has come into contact with raw fish to seek medical care if they develop symptoms of the infection.
