Coopersville Dairy Processors Get $2.4M State Grant, Will Create 52 Jobs

Two dairy processing plants located side-by-side in a former General Motors Delphi plant will get a $2.4 million grant from the state to help upgrade their wastewater treatment operations. The improvements, which total $173 million, will allow Fairlife LLC and Continental Dairy Facilities to create 52 new jobs as they expand production.

Grass-fed beef is enjoying a 25 to 30 percent annual growth rate, while sales of grass-fed yogurt and kefir have in the last year increased by over 38 percent, compared with a drop of just under 1 percent in the total yogurt and kefir market, according to natural and organic market research company SPINS.
