Galens Homestead Acres Has Won National Recognition For Its Organic Milk

Galens Homestead Acres, a small organic dairy farm on Taylor Road in Hopewell, has won national recognition for its organic milk. Steve, Paul and Hope Galens, who run the farm, won the Horizon Organic National Quality Award for the fourth time in five years.

GEAPS/K-State To Offer Two Grain Processing Courses In September

Registration is now open for two grain processing courses from the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) and Kansas State University (K-State) Distance Education Program. These online courses run from Sept. 12-Oct. 14, and registration closes Tuesday, Sept. 6. Courses are open to anyone, even if they are not a GEAPS member or a student enrolled at K-State. Online registration and more information on individual courses are available on the GEAPS/K-State Distance Education Program website.

McKayla Dietzen From DePere, WI Awarded WBA Scholarship

Hiller Scholarship, the Wisconsin Bakers Association (WBA) also has awarded the WBA Scholarship this year.  Congratulations to this year’s WBA Scholarship recipient, McKayla Dietzen, from DePere, WI.  Dietzen will be attending the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY this fall.
