All across the nation, from Alabama to Wyoming, Oregon to Maine, locally grown flowers will be highlighted and celebrated during American Flowers Week, a weeklong campaign inviting U.S. flower farmers and florists to showcase American-grown red, white and blue blooms on social media platforms (using #americanflowersweek) and in their own communities. American Flowers Week is the advocacy, education and outreach campaign co-produced by the Slow Flowers Podcast with Debra Prinzing and Slowflowers.com, the nationwide, online directory to American Flowers and the people who grow and design with them.

California cow’s milk processors that carry the Real California Cheese or Milk seals brought home 89 awards including Best of Show during the 2016 annual cheese competition held by the California State Fair in Sacramento. Pt. Reyes Farmstead Cheese was nominated as Best of Show Cow’s Milk Cheese and Best of California Cow’s Milk Cheese during the annual event and four processors, California Dairies, Inc., Fiscalini Cheese Co., Sierra Nevada Cheese Co. and Valley Ford Cheese Co., were nominated as Best of California Cow’s Milk Cheese.
