Retailers Must Keep Records If Grinding Beef

Beginning June 20, 2016, all retail stores and official establishments that grind raw beef for sale must maintain records. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service, published a final rule in the Federal Register detailing this requirement. The goal of the new rule is to improve response time and identify the source of a foodborne illness outbreak involving ground beef.

Perdue Foods Invests $10.9M To Expand Operations In Richmond County, NC

Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III, and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced that Perdue Foods, LLC, will expand its Richmond County production facility and hire an additional 30 workers during the coming three years. The popular name in consumer poultry and pork products plans to invest $10.9 million at its site in the City of Rockingham.
