BJ's Wholesale Club Recalls Deli Meats For Undeclared Pistachios

BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc., is voluntarily issuing a recall of Cittero Mortadella and deli meats sold from January 20 through February 3, 2016 due to a possible exposure to a tree nut allergen (pistachio). People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pistachios run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Study Reviews Accelerating Sophistication Of Supermarket Fresh Prepared Foods

Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and Technomic has released results of a survey detailing the sophistication of supermarket fresh prepared foods among 28 banners, representing 8,000 stores, and substantiates the $15 billion growth of supermarket fresh prepared foods over the last eight years. The study suggests that most stores (64%) witnessed 2014 prepared foods category growth of nine percent or higher.
