Safeway Closing Denver Bread Plant, 95 Workers Given Notice

Streamlining operations after its merger with Albertsons, Safeway will shutter its Denver bread plant and let 95 workers go. The bakery, operating at 4500 Dahlia St. in northeast Denver since the 1970s, will close Feb. 27, according to a document submitted to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
