The Huebners have owned the business since 1993, buying it from Joe Trefzger, the fourth-generation Trefzger to run the bakery. It opened on Fulton Street in 1861, moved to the corner of Main and Monroe streets, and then to its current location in 1952. Built in 1895, the Hobart Building, as it is known, at 4416 N. Prospect Road, will be the bakery’s fourth home in 154 years. Trefzger’s is not just expanding the size of the space it occupies, it’s expanding the business.
