The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission has released a preliminary assessment of the U.S. Atlantic coast lobster stock, and it presents a mixed picture. The Gulf of Maine and Georges Bank has seen a record high abundance of lobster, while Southern New England’s stock has diminished, due in part to rising water temperatures, a report indicates.

This year the Catholic Charities North Fishing Community Fund included donations from more than 30 companies and individuals.

AAMP Elects First Female President

Erica Hering of Ralph’s Packing Company, Perkins, Oklahoma, was elected president of the American Association of Meat Processors during the 76th American Convention of Meat Processors and Suppliers’ Exhibition in Springfield, Illinois. Hering worked her way through the AAMP board chairs, serving as the association’s first vice-president and treasurer before she took charge of her presidential duties on June 20, 2015.
