Rochester's Donna Marie's Gluten Free Bakery Expands To East Side

Donna Marie Bruno opened the first fully gluten-free bakery in Rochester called Donna Marie's Gluten Free Bakery on the west side of the city in 2009, and held a grand opening for a second retail location on Penfield Road Saturday. She sells gluten-free wholesale products to a slew of local locations including Starry Nites Café in Rochester and Wegmans in Pittsford and Brockport. Word about her bakery spread through a celiac support group in Rochester.

Pricing Benchmark Report Cites Competitive Price Intelligence As 'Very Valuable'

Canada Proposes New Nutrition Labels

Health Canada has proposed changes to nutrition labels on food. The changes include updates to the Nutrition Facts table (NFT), which would display serving sizes in common household measurements followed by a metric equivalent; indicate the amount of potassium, while removing totals for vitamins A and C; and add a footnote that explains percent daily values, suggesting that a value of five percent or less represents "a little" and 15% or more constitutes "a lot" of the recommended daily intake for a particular ingredient.
