Low Volume Of Shrimp Landings Reported In May 2015

NOAA reported that shrimpers landed 10.2 million pounds of shrimp in the Gulf last month.  Although that figure is considerably more than the volume of shrimp landed in May of last year (5.7 million pounds), it represents the third lowest volume of shrimp landed in the month of May over the last fourteen years.

Ada County, Idaho Approves Massive Meat Processing Facility

They haven't broken ground yet, but crews are already doing some prep work. It's a joint venture between the J. R. Simplot Company and a Texas meat packing company, Caviness Beef Packers. Kuna Mayor Greg Nelson says it will be a huge economic boost for the bedroom community, which has few jobs of its own right now.
