TrustHouse Services Group Switching All Liquid Eggs To Cage-Free

Food service company TrustHouse Services Group announced that after working with The Humane Society of the United States, it’s switching all one million pounds of its annual liquid egg usage (equaling approximately 10 million eggs) to cage-free by 2020. TrustHouse Services Group, a division of Elior, is one of the largest foodservice companies in the USA.  TrustHouse provides food service at more than 675 colleges, universities, hospitals, K-12 schools, senior facilities and is the leading provider of Meals on Wheels in the USA.

Martin-Brower Co. Announces $16 Million Food Distribution Facility In Walker

Gov. Bobby Jindal and General Manager Larry Daigle of Louisiana operations for The Martin-Brower Company LLC (Martin Brower) announced the company will make a $16 million capital investment to build a food distribution facility in Walker, Louisiana. In addition to retaining 160 existing jobs, Martin Brower will create 30 new direct jobs that will provide an additional $1.3 million in new annual payroll by 2020. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project also will result in an additional 26 new indirect jobs, for a total of more than 50 new jobs in the Capital Region. The project will generate an estimated 150 to 200 construction jobs.
