Brooks Tropicals, LLC of Homestead, FL is voluntarily issuing a limited recall of 401 boxes of fresh green skin avocados with a single Lot # 2610 because they may have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  To our knowledge, no illnesses have been associated with this recall, but out of an abundance of caution a recall is being initiated.

Hickory Harvest Foods recently received SQF Level 2 certification for its Akron manufacturing facility, one of the highest certifications of food safety in the industry.  This certification indicates that the Akron, Ohio based manufacturer of roasted and flavored nuts, trail mixes, imported dried fruits, and confections conforms to food safety standards set by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The audit was conducted by Silliker, an independent certification firm.
