The Fisheries Agency set ceilings Tuesday on Japan’s catch of juvenile bluefin tuna by area to help restore the dwindling adult tuna stock in the Pacific Ocean, officials said.

Meat Market: Pat LaFrieda Reflects On Four Generations Of Butchery

Pat the third is a fourth generation butcher; his great-grandfather, Anthony, came to the States in 1906. He'd begun to learn the meat business in his native Naples, and here, he had the opportunity to step out on his own in 1922. All five of his sons — including Pat Sr. — worked for the company, and in the '50s, they started selling to restaurants during a labor strike. USDA Seeks Input On Revisions To Beef Grading Standards

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking public input on possible revisions to the U.S. Standards for Grades of Carcass Beef to adjust for recent improvements and trends in animal raising and feeding. AMS is also seeking input on a review of beef instrument grading.
