Vidalia Onion Committee Hosts National Food Bloggers

To celebrate the start of the 2014 season and their new “V is for Vidalia” consumer campaign, The Vidalia Onion Committee hosted a field tour for food bloggers and media on April 25-27, 2014.  The tour provided a first-hand look at how and where Vidalia onions are grown along with one-on-one conversations with farmers.  During the weekend event, participants were also treated to a wide variety of specially prepared meals from local chefs featuring the versatility and flavor of Vidalia onions.

Mango Performance Benchmark Report Confirms Whole Mangos Had Record Year In Dollar & Volume Sales

The National Mango Board (NMB) in collaboration with Nielsen-Perishables Group, published the 2013 Mango Performance Benchmark Report. The report reveals positive trends for mangos in grocery stores, with an increase of 13.8% in mango dollars per store per week over the 2012 results. The report also shows an increase of 14.6% in mango volume per store per week.
