Harris Teeter announced today that it is the first retailer in the country to offer U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Certified Very Tender beef. Harris Teeter will begin labeling its Reserve Angus® beef brand with the USDA Certified Very Tender label in its stores starting April 23, 2014. The new certification guarantees consumers the highest-quality tender eating experience.

Governor Cuomo Announces Approval Of Funding For Adirondack Meat Co. Expansion

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the approval of $300,000 for the Adirondack Meat Company’s new, 7,500 square-foot USDA-certified food processing facility in Ticonderoga, Essex County. The facility, which is up and running with a dozen new jobs already created, will help meet the growing need of area livestock farmers and producers and generate a total of 17 jobs in Essex County. The company is also slated to open a retail store on Wicker Street in Ticonderoga on May 1 of this year.

AFE's Murder, Sex & Greed Video Wins 2014 American Advertising Award

Awards season is officially underway! The DC Ad Club presented a Silver 2014 American Advertising Award (ADDY award) recognizing creative excellence to the American Floral Endowment (AFE) for its original Murder, Sex and Greed animated awareness video. The video was developed to educate the floriculture industry about the positive impacts AFE makes on critical industry problems.

New Tulip Varieties At Sun Valley

When the floor in the sales office kitchen is speckled with chunks of dirt, portions of bulbs are in the the sink and there are vases full of tulips with all sorts of cryptic notes on the bloom table; you know our new tulip varieties are in full swing. This is such a wonderful time on the farm. Our growers, Lane, Tim and Tanner, will come into the sales office proudly holding a new variety; usually leaving a trail of dirt, since the tulip was literally just pulled from the soil.
