US, Canada Harmonizing Names Of Meat Cuts

Canada and the United States have agreed to harmonize the terminology used for wholesale cuts of meat. This common understanding of terms will benefit industry through reducing costs of maintaining separate inventories, easing trade and reducing red tape and regulatory burden.

National Turkey Federation Elects 2014 Board Of Directors

The National Turkey Federation (NTF) elected the 2014 Executive Committee (EC) during its annual convention being held in Orlando last week. Elected by the NTF Board of Directors, the EC contains a diverse group of turkey industry leaders.  Among them is Gary Cooper, chief operating officer of Cooper Farms in Ohio —who was elected 2014 NTF chairman.

Plant Trials Database Ratings Now Accessible To Industry

After its creation in 2012, the Plant Trial Database is proud to announce that there is now an appropriate amount of plant trialing data to share with the industry. After two trialing seasons, the Plant Trials Database now includes ratings on over 1,000 varieties of annuals. This is expected to grow tremendously in the near future as additional breeding companies participate and as additional categories, such as perennials and edibles, are added to the system.
