Mar-Jac Poultry finalized a deal on Friday to purchase all of Marshall Durbin’s assets, including the Jasper plant. The plant in Jasper opened for the first time Monday as a Mar-Jac Poultry AL processing plant.

Colorado Firm Recalls Various Meat Products Due To Soy Lecithin

House of Smoke, Inc., a Fort Lupton, Colo. establishment, is recalling approximately 144,000 pounds of meat and poultry products (including bratwurst / brotwurst, fully cooked sausage-type products, and raw fresh products) because of an undeclared allergen and misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.  The products were processed with a releasing agent containing soy lecithin, a known allergen that is not declared on the label.
