Three Year Apple Category Growth Run Continued During Holidays

Supermarket sales data released by Nielsen Perishables Group reveals continued strong apple category growth over the December holiday period.  A three year analysis of apple performance by CMI shows retail volume continues to grow, led by newer varieties.  During the month of December, apple category volume at retail increased by 3.2% over 2012 but is up 9.5% over 2011.

But Pardy, Bristol’s CEO, thinks they could at least double that, if not more, in the next several years. AMI Honors Several Industry Leaders At IPPE

The American Meat Institute (AMI) today honored Bunzl USA of St. Louis, Missouri as the American Meat Institute (AMI) 2014 Supplier of the Year. Also honored was Philip Jones, president of Jones Dairy Farm in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, with its Edward C. Jones Community Service Award. The award was created in memory of Jones’ grandfather Edward C. Jones. University of Wisconsin Adjunct Professor of Meat Science Andrew Milkowski, Ph.D., also received the American Meat Institute (AMI) Foundation Scientific Achievement Award. These announcements were made during the International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta, Georgia.
