Mintel: Over 1/3 Of Americans Cut Back On Red Meat For Health Reasons

As January continues, many consumers continue to forge ahead with healthy eating habits as part of new year resolutions. Indeed, despite prevalent health trends encouraging consumers to eat less red meat, and 90% of consumers eating some kind of red meat at least once a month – new research from Mintel reveals some 39% of beef and other red meat consumers ate less in 2013 than they did in 2012.

Gluten-Free Growth Projected For 2014, Consumers Relate Gluten-Free To 'Healthier'

Gluten-free looks poised for continued growth in 2014, according new research conducted on behalf of Hain Pure Protein Corporation. Four in ten health conscious respondents (41%) are planning to buy more gluten-free products this year, with 57% intending to buy the same amount as they did in 2013.  Notably, 70% of those surveyed said they regularly purchased products that were labeled gluten-free.
