Tennessee’s lawmakers and lobbyists are gearing up for a booze battle in 2014 that could determine whether or not grocery stores can legally sell wine in the Volunteer State.

Giant Eagle Jumping Into Indianapolis Market

Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle wants to build a 125,000-square-foot store at The Bridges development on 116th Street between Illinois Street and Springmill Road as the first of at least six stores in the market, local real estate brokers said. The chain’s arrival would make it the first mainline grocer to enter the market in several years and would crowd an already competitive local grocery segment.

At the American Community Gardening Conference in Seattle in August 2013 I learned about City Fruit, an organization that harvests those resources on both public and private land for the benefit of the community. Gloucester Terminals Announces Completion Of Cold Storage Project

Gloucester Terminals LLC of New Jersey has announced the completion of a $2 million renovation at the Gloucester Marine Terminal.  The project was a 60,000-square-foot cold storage facility. The building is storing fruit brought up along the Delaware River, originally from South America.
