Mike Babcock created Oregon Seafoods, LLC, in 2011 with a goal of providing a high-quality, nutritious alternative in the processed tuna market. The wild caught albacore tuna, sold in environmentally friendly pouches, is now being marketed in over 800 grocery stores. He’s also introduced a successful line of soups and sauces. But problems do come with success. Babcock says he needs more space.

Congress, Industry Urge NOAA To Support Bluefin Tuna Fishery

The International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) convenes Wednesday in Montreal to discuss the Atlantic bluefin tuna stock assessment. Lawmakers asked delegation chief Russell Smith to "pursue all possible means to secure an increase in the [Total Allowable Catch] for the western Atlantic bluefin tuna stock," declaring current allocations "insufficient to sustain our traditional and valuable U.S. fisheries."
