Leprino Foods' Amanda Keenan Receives 2013 Jim Page Memorial Scholarship

The American Dairy Products Institute was pleased to award Amanda Keenan from Sayre, Pennsylvania, with one of two Jim Page Memorial Scholarships for 2013 during their Annual Conference held in Chicago, Illinois. Keenan is a full-time employee at the Leprino Foods plant in Waverly, New York. She is currently a Production Analyst in the accounting department and a Communications Lead Representative for the plant assisting with the roll-out of the company's updated software systems and processes. She does this all while pursuing her Business Management degree from Empire State College in the evenings with a current GPA of 3.98.

Opposition To Dairy Supply Management Mounts

As the House and Senate Agriculture Committees prepare to write a new Farm Bill this week, the list of organizations opposed to a proposed dairy program continues to grow. Nearly 150 organizations and businesses across the food chain, from farmers and food manufacturers to food retailers and consumers, have signed letters to members of Congress urging them to oppose the "Dairy Market Stabilization Program" (DMSP). This program is designed to raise milk prices by establishing federal regulations to periodically limit the U.S. milk supply when farms are growing.
