Kevin Adams Named Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute Chairman

Alaska fisherman and commercial fisheries activist, Kevin Adams, was elected Chairman at the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) Board of Directors Meeting on May 9th in Anchorage. The Governor appointed board consists of seven members: five seafood processors and two industry representatives actively engaged in commercial fishing.  Adams was appointed to fill a harvester seat by Governor Frank Murkowski in 2004. 

Maryland To Limit Female Crab Catch

Maryland moved Monday to reduce the commercial harvest of female blue crabs in the aftermath of a survey finding that the Chesapeake Bay's crab population hit a five-year low last winter.
