Importer Best Cheese Corporation closes out the 2012 cheese competition year with a Top 16 Super Gold award at the 2012 World Cheese Awards for its newest Dutch cheese, Melkbus237 Original. Out of 700+ award winning cheeses, only 55 received Super Gold status and within that, only 16 received Top 16 Super Gold recognition. This is the first world accolade for Melkbus237, which is made in small quantities on family farms outside the village of Gouda, NL – the birthplace of Gouda cheese.

Wisconsin Leads US In Total Awards At World Contest

Wisconsin cheesemakers claimed a total of 31 awards at the recent 2012 World Cheese Awards competition, the largest cheese contest in the world. The total represents more than those awarded to any other U.S. state. This year, more than 2,700 cheeses from 30 countries were entered.
