Last week at its summer meeting of the board of directors, Western Growers voted to endorse the candidacy of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee Gov. Mitt Romney.

NGA Opposes Proposed Interchange Fee Settlement With Visa & Mastercard

In a unanimous vote, the Board of Directors of the National Grocers Association (NGA) approved a resolution opposing the proposed interchange fee settlement agreement in the antitrust litigation by merchants against Visa, MasterCard, and their member banks.  NGA is a named plaintiff and class representative in the lawsuit In Re Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation.

Massachusetts Grocery Stores Anticipate Demise Of Sticker Prices

A longtime, low-tech grocery store tradition may soon be biting the dust thanks to a new law in Massachusetts. The law, signed earlier this month by Gov. Deval Patrick, gives grocery sellers the option of doing away with the little white sticker prices that for decades have been individually applied to food products.
