United Fresh 2012 Attendees Honor Best New Products

Attendees to the United Fresh Produce Association’s annual convention and expo in Dallas cast their votes Wednesday and recognized this year’s New Product Awards in five categories. More than 25 fresh fruit and vegetable innovations competed in the categories of Best New Packaging Product, Best New Food Safety Solution, Best New Packing/Processing Equipment, Best New Fruit Product and Best Vegetable Product.

Chiquita & Cooperative For Education Partner To Break Cycle Of Poverty In Guatemala

Cincinnati-based nonprofit Cooperative for Education (CoEd) recently received international support in the form of a prestigious grant from Chiquita Brands.  The $20,000 grant will support the organization’s Guatemala Textbook Program, bringing first-ever textbooks to more than 1,000 youths in rural Guatemala. Residents of the Cincinnati area and beyond have the opportunity to see the program in action and meet the youths who will benefit from the grant through service trips conducted by CoEd every February and August.
