The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (A&P) today announced that it has successfully consummated its financial restructuring and emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as a privately-held company. The United States Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of New York confirmed the Company's Plan of Reorganization on February 28, 2012.

Kansas House Votes To Eliminate Sales Tax On Groceries

The average Kansan spends about eighty bucks a week on groceries. Now lawmakers are considering dropping the taxes. Republican House member Jana Goodman says the average taxpayer needs a break, and tax-free groceries would do just that. It would cost the state about $350 Million a year. Lawmakers say they hope retail sales would pick up and make up the difference.
