Nash Finch Buying Omaha, Nebraska-Based Bag 'N Save Supermarkets

Nash Finch Company, a Minneapolis-based food distributor, announced today that U Save Foods, Inc., a Nash Finch wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into an agreement to purchase the Bag ‘N Save supermarkets located in Omaha and York, Nebraska. A family-owned business with roots in the grocery business in Omaha going back to the early 1940’s, Bag ‘N Save was founded as a company in 1981. The transaction is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2012.

WinCo Foods, LLC  opened two new discount supermarkets on Sunday, March 4th. The two stores are located in the greater Las Vegas, Nevada, market and are located at 80 N. Stephanie in Henderson, Nevada, and at 6101 N. Decatur Blvd. in Las Vegas, Nevada. Each store is approximately 94,000 square feet in size and will employ approximately 200 individuals, most of whom have been hired locally.
