The Albuquerque Public Schools said board members approved a contract Tuesday with an Arizona-based company — officially ending its 51-year business relationship with local milk distributor Creamland Dairy.

The Dairy Council of Florida has awarded nearly $100,000 to thirty-nine schools statewide to support Fuel Up to Play 60, a national in-school health and wellness program that encourages children to eat nutrient-rich foods (low-fat and fat-free dairy foods, fruits, vegetables and whole grains) and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Fuel Up to Play 60 is a program of the National Dairy Council and the National Football League in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture.

Senators Wyden, Leahy Ask FDA For Gluten-Free Food Standards

After more than four years of inaction by the Food and Drug Administration on their statutory requirement to finalize standards for gluten-free labeling on foods, U.S. Senators Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) have sent a letter to FDA Commissioner Dr. Margaret A. Hamburg seeking answers for the extreme delay and an update on when the FDA will propose a final rule.
