Dawn Foods Finishes Acquisition Of Unifine Food & Bake Ingredients

Dawn Foods has completed the acquisition of the Unifine Food & Bake Ingredients business from Royal Cosun, effective 30 June, 2011. Over the next 12 months, Unifine will be fully integrated into Dawn as leaders from both organizations continue to work closely together to develop and implement an integration plan.

June 2011 American Bakers Association FTRAC Meeting Overview

ABA’s Food Technical Regulatory Affairs Committee (FTRAC) discussed key nutrition and food safety issues when it met in Washington, D.C. on June 28. As part of the meeting, the committee participated in a roundtable dialogue on a variety of issues including the Interagency Working Group proposal on marketing foods to children; FDA’s recently completed trans fat intake assessment; and an update on ABA activities surrounding the Food Safety Modernization Act implementation.
