FDA: Calif. Seafood Handler Ocean Harvest Enters Into Consent Decree

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and San Diego-based Ocean Harvest Inc., an outlet for salmon, tuna, and other fresh fish intended for raw consumption, and Ocean Harvest president, Minkyu Park, recently signed a consent decree of permanent injunction. The company had been selling seafood that was handled in violation of federal food safety standards.

Meat Prices To Continue Their Climb, Report Says

Higher meat prices could be on the way, a report Friday suggested. The U.S. Department of Agriculture said 11 percent fewer cattle moved from grazing into feedlots during May from the same period last year. The smaller number of "feeders" reflects fewer calves being born during the last year as cattle producers tighten their herds in the face of the doubling of corn prices.
