Effective May 2, Clay Gustaveson will join the sales staff at RPE as the new Director of Foodservice Sales. Based in RPE’s Paul, Idaho office, Gustaveson will be responsible for expanding RPE’s foodservice presence for both their full potato line and their new line, Tasteful Selections(tm).

U.S. Potato Products Demonstrated At Japan’s Supermarket Trade Show

The United States Potato Board (USPB) presented the versatility, efficiency and ease of US frozen and dehydrated (dehy) potato products to visitors attending the 45th Supermarket Trade Show. This event, held at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, February 8-11, 2011, and attracted supermarket purchasing agents, and retailers representing department stores, convenience stores and drugstores, as well as menu developers from hotels and food manufacturers.

California Asparagus Peak For Mother’s Day

Cherie Watte, executive director of the California Asparagus Commission, said that growers have recovered from weather-related delays at the start of the season and all areas are now in full production. Pre-harvest rains have given growers some of the finest quality asparagus seen in years.

Wish Farms Announces Pesticide Residue-Free Blueberries

Wishnatzki Farms (Wish Farms), a Florida-based grower-shipper, has announced the addition of pesticide residue-free blueberries to its produce offerings. Wish Farms is the only shipper in the country to have blueberries approved by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a third party organization that certifies environmental and safety claims.
