Dupre’s Bakery opened in 1996 just a few doors down from its current location. The bakery is divided into a shaping room, a mixing room and at least three different types of ovens. They have a small retail outlet on site but primarily sell to the wholesale market. Dupre’s delivers to more than five local markets and its bread is served at Kane’s, Sugar Bowl Lodge, Goomba’s, Caf Mekka, Friar Tuck’s, the Northridge and several other restaurants.

Bakeries: No Trans Fats Means Bread Costs More Dough

On Jan. 1, California will become the first state in the country to ban trans fats, which have been linked to an increase in bad cholesterol, obesity and heart disease. The law, AB 97, was approved in January 2010, and gave bakeries one year to adapt to the new rules. But although it might be good for people’s health, the change isn’t doing any favors for the health of small businesses, reports La Opinin.
