California Firm Recalls Raw And Ready-To-Eat Pork Products Due To Mislabeling And An Undeclared Allergen

L&R Fine Fashions, Inc., a Garden Grove, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 2,182 pounds of raw pork paste and ready-to-eat fried pork loaf products because they contain an undeclared allergen, wheat, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Wheat is a known allergen, which is not declared on the label.

The purchase price was bridged by an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners,Inc. The transaction closed 41 days after signing the LOI.

Christmas Competition At Northeast Greenhouse Conference A Success!

The first ever Christmas Competition was held at the Northeast Greenhouse Conference on November 3, 2010. Seven contestants (each was a merchandiser at a garden center from each of the participating Northeast states) competed by making a display in 45 minutes. The contestant was chosen by the respective growers’ association from MA, CT, RI, NH, VT, ME and NY.
