The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention join Costco Wholesale Corporation (Costco), in warning consumers not to consume Bravo Farms Dutch Style Gouda cheese (Costco item 40654), as this cheese may be associated with an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections. The cheese was available for sale, and free samples were offered for in-store tasting at Costco in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada.

More than 300 stakeholders gathered in Denver, Col., this week for a three-day conference that achieved increased clarity and deepened alignment around the key issues that influence the sustainability of the beef production system, both positive and negative.

Governor Markell Announces New Jobs At Mountaire Farms

In an election season dominated by the topic of job creation, Governor Jack Markell and state officials marked Return Day with an announcement of new jobs and a commitment to the agricultural industry in Sussex County. Mountaire Farms will invest approximately $34.5 million to expand its poultry complex in Millsboro and add 31 new jobs by December 2011. The job additions means Mountaire will now employ more than 3,600 people in Sussex County.
