The US florists industry includes about 16,000 retail flower shops with combined annual revenue of about $5 billion. No major companies dominate the industry, which is highly fragmented: the 50 largest companies account for less than 10 percent of revenue.

Lawsuit Filed Against Pasture Maid Creamery Alleging Raw Milk Caused Paralysis

Pritzker Olsen law firm has filed a lawsuit through its local counsel on behalf of James and Maureen Orchard, a Pittsburgh-area couple sickened last month by Campylobacter after drinking raw milk produced by Pasture Maid Creamery LLC of New Castle, Pennsylvania.

IDFA Welcomes Step To Address Sugar Shortage; Encourages Additional Action

The USDA announced plans to increase the raw sugar tariff rate quota (TRQ) by 200,000 tons for fiscal year 2010. IDFA has been aggressively urging USDA to increase the quota. However, the level of TRQ increase announced last week falls well below what IDFA says is needed to ease sugar prices and supply woes.
