Gardners, PA – Rice Fruit Company is proud to welcome Alexandra (Lex) Roberts as the newest addition to its staff. Lex will work as Facility Food Safety Manager, a new position created to work in partnership with the Grower Relations and Food Safety Manager post occupied by H. Lee Showalter. The Facility Food Safety Manager plans and monitors food safety protocols throughout Rice Fruit Company’s storage and packing facilities. Previously, Lee Showalter managed the comprehensive food safety chain from farm through facility. With the addition of Lex Roberts in this new position, the company expects to continue its excellent accomplishments in the field of food safety by expanding, sharpening, and enhancing the strategies used within the packing facility.
Lex joins Rice Fruit with four years of experience in food safety and quality assurance, most recently as Food Safety/QA Manager at Apeeling Fruit, Inc. Before that, Lex practiced law for six years with MidPenn Legal Services.
Company president, David Rice, said, “We’re very pleased to add Lex to our team. She brings direct apple and food safety experience as well as a fierce commitment to excellence. We’re confident she’ll quickly incorporate new strategies and technologies into our already rigorous processes.”
