PLYMOUTH, Wis. — Since the 2014 hockey season, Sartori has teamed up with the Milwaukee Admirals to support the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding research for pediatric cancer and related blood disorders. For each power play, Sartori makes a contribution to the MACC Fund, which is matched by the Admirals. This season alone, the partnership led to a $5,660 donation.
"We truly cherish the opportunity to work with the Admirals and the MACC Fund," said Jeff Schwager, president of Sartori Company. "It has been incredible to see what we have accomplished together over the past three years." Through their ongoing partnership, Sartori and the Admirals have donated over $17,000 to the MACC Fund.
For the past 40 years, the MACC Fund has advocated on behalf of the diligent researchers and dedicated caregivers who have helped increase the overall cure rate for childhood cancer. When the organization began in 1976, the overall cure rate for childhood cancer was 20%. Thanks in part to the support of the MACC Fund, the overall 5-year survival rate has increased to 80%, yet children in the category can still relapse and have "late effect" issues. To date, the MACC Fund has contributed over $59 million to childhood cancer and related blood disorder research.
