Lower hog prices helped Smithfield’s fresh pork and packaged meat businesses, but the cut in prices hurt the firm’s hog raising operations in 2015.
The Smithfield-based pork producing powerhouse, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of China-based WH Group Limited, recorded $14.4 billion in sales in 2015, according to a report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
That's slightly down from $15 billion in sales in 2014.
