Dennis Satyshur To Headline Golf Tournament At 2016 ABA Convention

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Bakers Association (ABA) is pleased to announce that Dennis Satyshur will serve as the tournament pro during the 2016 Paul Abenante PEC Golf Tournament on Tuesday, March 22, at the ABA Convention in Phoenix, Ariz.

“We are very excited that ABA’s longtime friend and Director of Golf at Caves Valley Golf Club Dennis Satyshur, will return to the ABA Convention as our guest golf pro — lending a hand and helping golfers hone their skills,” said ABA President and CEO Robb MacKie. “As our number of participants continues to increase, especially baker registrants and players, we are very pleased with the growing level of excitement surrounding this year’s tournament.”

Sponsored by BEMA, Buhler, and sponsoring members of the Allied Trades of the Baking Industry, the tournament has a new twist – the BEMA Golf Hole. There are several prizes being offered, all depending on how close the players come to the pin. All players that get on the green win $25; balls that land within five feet of the pin win a range finder; and a hole in one wins a new set of irons. “These never-before offered prizes are sure to make for a great game,” said tournament co-coordinator Pete Frederick of Grain Craft.

Satyshur has devoted his career to improving golf in every dimension of the game. His focus on the people side of the golf business has been extraordinary. Many alumni of Caves Valley Golf Club have moved on to positions of substantial responsibility at important golf clubs throughout America. Satyshur is a terrific ambassador for Caves Valley Golf Club and a welcome addition and advocate for the tournament each year.

The Paul Abenante PEC Golf Tournament is designed as a fun event for golfers of all abilities to join in support of ABA’s political education activities. The proceeds of the tournament are invested in critically-important programs such as ABA’s “Rise to Action” grassroots program, congressional directories, and acquiring high-profile speakers. It’s also designed for bakers and suppliers to maximize their Convention experience in a relaxed and casual atmosphere for networking. “There’s no better place to interact with industry colleagues than on the green,” said tournament co-coordinator Phil Burris of D. Thomas & Associates, Inc.

The 2016 ABA Convention is taking place March 20 – March 23, at the Arizona Biltmore. As the premier annual gathering of the baking industry, top industry leaders will attend to hear from business and political speakers, learn about the latest trends, connect with industry colleagues, share ideas, and develop solutions on baking issues.
