It’s always fun to see the new and creative ways that woody shrubs are used at Christmas time. Each year, someone has a new great idea!
Some of the standards look very nice, like the white Azalea and mini red and white Roses. I haven't yet seen a tree Rosemary or a white Hydrangea, but it’s not Christmas yet, so I’ll keep looking. The ideal white Hydrangea for Christmas décor is the Ball Ornamentals Hydrangea mac 'Wedding Gown'. This double white starts as a Lacecap and continues opening to finish as a Mophead. Its unique bloom and great habit make it the perfect Christmas gift.
It used to be that if you wanted a mini Christmas tree, you had to use a Picea g. conica. I did see these, but there were so many more choices this year! Ball Ornamentals has a couple of conifers that may work well. Consider the Thuja Fairy Lights with its narrow habit and gold tips or Cupressus Shorty with its compact habit and bluish tint in Winter.
