Leg cramps, household budget woes, and the body’s need for protein, oh my!
Unless you live under a rock these days, headlines about food and beverage options to fuel performance and quell cravings, the impact of price on purchase decisions, and the quest for protein surround us in the media. At the same time, our desire to innovate and meet consumer demands is high.
So what if I told you that some of what consumers are demanding already exists? Let me describe something that just may get consumers excited:
- It’s available nationwide and can potentially be marketed as local
- It’s made of real, simple, fresh ingredients
- Organic and conventional options are available
- It contains 9 essential nutrients, including three of concern according to the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans
- It’s an accessible source of high-quality protein
- You don’t need to know how to cook to consume it
- It’s portable and can be enjoyed on its own or paired with other food groups
- There is an industry-wide commitment to reducing GHG by 25% by the year 2020
- Intrigued? Want to know what it is?
