Carlisle, PA – GIANT Food Stores has completed remodels of its stores located at 1600 Nay Aug Avenue in Scranton and 1550 Main Street in Dickson City. The stores underwent four-month remodels to provide customers with an expanded product selection and features for a more convenient shopping experience.
“With the completion of these two remodels, we are excited to deliver a better place to shop for our customers in combination with the everyday value, quality, and selection they expect from their GIANT shopping experience,” said Christine Bokunewicz, district director.
Scranton and Dickson City customers will find key departments such as produce, deli, meat, and bakery have been expanded and freshened with new décor and fixtures allowing for an increased variety of product. Key areas such as grocery, dairy, and frozen foods have also been refreshed or expanded.
Emphasizing GIANT’s ongoing commitment to health and wellness, Dickson City customers will find a broader assortment of natural and organic products in a dedicated section called Nature’s Promise Marketplace, which includes more than 2,500 frozen, dairy, grocery and special diet selections. To assist customers on gluten-free diets due to celiac disease or other health concerns, the gluten-free product area located within Nature’s Promise Marketplace is sixteen feet.
With an eye on energy conservation, LED lighting was newly installed in many areas of the stores, including overhead track lights, spotlights on specialty areas & displays, exterior store signs and in the frozen food cases. LED lights are longer-lasting and are expected to reduce wattage by half.
The Customer Service areas were redesigned to meet customer needs and offer many services and conveniences, including Western Union, RedBox DVD rentals, money orders, ATM, lottery tickets and postage stamps.
The Scranton GIANT has been in existence since 2001 and employs 132 associates; the Dickson City GIANT opened in 2002 and employs 130 associates.
