Aoiz, Spain, 9 December 2010—Pregis Hexacomb’s Aoiz manufacturing facility recently received a prestigious quality award from its regional Government Foundation of Excellence. The honor was based on criteria established by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
Pregis Hexacomb was one of only 30 organisations in the Navarra region receiving the honor—and the only packaging company to successfully meet the stringent EFQM criteria. Companies are evaluated in multiple areas including: management and execution of leadership, policy/strategy, customer service and partnership processes.
“On behalf of the Pregis Hexacomb plant in Aoiz, we are extremely pleased to have been recognized for our commitment to excellence,” said Eduardo Lacalle, plant manager. “Our vision and integrity are the driving forces behind the value-added products we manufacture for our customers.”
Pregis’ Aoiz facility manufacturers a full range of Hexacomb® honeycomb protective packaging in stock and custom configurations. The products provide cushioning and blocking/brace protection for a wide range of European products and industries including automotive, appliances, building, solar panels, textiles, transport, etc.
Hexacomb® honeycomb is 100% paper-based. The product range is made from renewable resources (a minimum of 20% recycled fiber content) and is recyclable to provide the perfect blend of performance and environmental responsibility.
“In addition to our commitment to the latest manufacturing processes, we also believe in nurturing creativity, innovation and excellence in all of our relationship channels—employees, customers, business partners, etc. Our goal is to have everyone pulling together to achieve a level of excellence that exceeds our stakeholders’ expectations,” Lacalle said.
The EFQM Excellence Model is implemented by more than 30,000 organisations around the world. Its assessment framework can be used to gain a holistic overview of any organisation regardless of size, sector or maturity.
The award was presented on 9 November 2010 at the Baluarte Convention Centre in Pamplona. The event was attended by Navarra’s governor, Pamplona’s mayor and various other local dignitaries and business leaders.
