Dole Fresh Vegetables is coordinating closely with regulatory officials. No illnesses have been reported in association with the recall.

Maryland Approves Corkage At Restaurants

Maryland lawmakers may not have been able to solve the state’s budget woes during this year’s session, but they did hand wine lovers another gift. A year after approving direct-to-consumer shipping from wineries, lawmakers approved a bill that will allow “corkage,” the practice of bringing your own wine to restaurants.

No matter how much you have spent, how fancy a steakhouse you went to, or which of the many celebrity chefs who regularly feature Kobe beef on their menus you believed, you were duped. Im really sorry to have to be the one telling you this, but no matter how much you would like to believe you have tasted it, if it wasnt in Asia you almost certainly have never had Japans famous Kobe beef.

National Restaurant Association Announces Operator Innovations Awards Finalists

An independent panel of judges has selected the finalists for the National Restaurant Association's inaugural Operator Innovations Awards. Three finalists in each of five categories – Sustainability, Technology, Food Safety, Health & Nutrition, and Menu Development- will be brought to Chicago for the Association's 2012 Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show this May.
