29th Annual New Jersey Peach Festival July 28-31st

The 29th annual News Jersey Peach Festival starts on Thursday July 28, 2011 at the Gloucester County 4-H Fairgrounds on Rte 47 in Mullica Hill. The festival will begin with the placement of the commercial peach pack competition from the state’s top peach growers. Many peach products and peach cider drinks will again be sold, along with that special New Jersey peach ice cream that has long been a favorite of attendees. Jersey Fresh peaches and other peach products will be sold throughout the 4-day festival.

Rhode Island Dept. Of Health Issues Warning About Eating Raw Shellfish

The Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) has received a report of a laboratory-confirmed case of Vibrio parahaemolyticus infection in a male in his 70s who ate raw clams earlier this month. HEALTH is not certain where the clams were harvested. The man was treated and is recovering.
